Today we present the next Rolex custom from German high end watch customizer Blaken. Sometimes less is really more and that is 100% true with their new Blaken Submariner Date Single Red.
The watch gets the usual full Diamond Like Coating in black and subtle red accents on the ‘Submariner’ logo on the dial and on the seconds hand. Limited to only 25 pieces worldwide, the Blaken Submariner Date Single Red can now be ordered from email@example.com, priced at 12750 Euros.
As Aston Martin reconsiders its AMR-One LMP1 sports car racing project, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new AMVOX5 World Chronograph LMP1 ($20,900) continues waving the green flag. Engineered with an easy-to-read, highly accurate chronograph paired with a world time function, the 250-piece limited edition is the latest model to emerge from the seven-year collaboration. Legibility was a priority for designers, who positioned two carbon fiber chronograph counters tracking hours and minutes at 3 and 9 o’clock, while seconds are counted off with a central hand. The dial, which evokes the air-vent grilles on the Aston Martin LMP1 prototypes, is highlighted with a Gulf Oil color scheme of orange and blue. And playing off the cars’ extreme technical features, the case is composed of robust high-tech ceramic mixed with zirconium and yttrium, which is subjected to heat and pressure to yield a material so hard that it can only be shaped with special diamond-tipped tools. We loved Carlos Campos' spring 2012 presentation at Milk Studios during Fashion Week: the streamlined silhouettes, the sharp tailoring, and those watches... yes, those watches. So, we simply had to find out more about the brightly colored, sporting-inspired beauties that graced the wrists of many of the models, and had everyone from "it" boy Theophilus London to a member of the Ramones inquiring where they could cop one. Our search led us to a young Milanese company, Brera Orologi, and its founder Maurizio Pasi. Pasi chatted with us briefly about starting the brand, partnering with Carlos, and how he might be moving to New York...
Independently crafted and inspired by the chassis of Formula One cars, the SpidoSpeed is a designer’s chronograph. It uses a skeletonized three-part case and three-dimensional dial with “disc brake” holes. Powering the SpidoSpeed is a custom-built caliber called the LW03 with skeletonized rotor, viewable through the sapphire case back. Only 100 of these watches will be available in an “A Series,” and they are now sold at Colette in Paris. (Linde Werdelin)
Bamford Special Edition Bi-Colour Submariner Rolex This watch isn't a conversation piece. It's a whole dinner-then dessert-then-a-nightcap soliloquy. It will set you back some, but it'll also get you ahead.
